Couple's Corner: Meet Zel and Mie

Rodliz’s Nest

Rodliz has launched a new meme. The ball starts rolling today in fact. The meme is officially called, " Couple's Corner" It is all about couples and everything directly related with being partners for life in sickness and in Health. As a start, today's theme would be: "Meet Mr. and Mrs. ______________" . In this topic , we have to introduce ourselves and our partners , where we are from, race and our personalities. Can't wait to start.. So here we go...

Meet Zel and Mie

I am Shelomi and my brother husband is Eucel. We are a couple for the Lord and our home is for the Lord. Zel is the nickname I call my husband and Mie is the nickname he gave to me right from the time we first know each other. Actually, in my entire life no one else calls me "mie" as my popular nickname is really "shelo". My family calls me that. But he addresses me uniquely.

We are originally from Mindanao, particularly in Misamis Occidental. Zel is from Ozamis City while I am from Aloran , another locality of Mis. Occ. Due to work and living, we are here presently in Metro Manila building our own family. Now, know a little about us...

I am a graduate of BA Political Science in the University of the Philippines. I have never met my husband if you would believe when I was in high school nor in college though we came from the same province and have the same faith. I only met him after the dark days of my life. I will tell you more about this next week maybe. Zel graduated at MIT (Ozamis City) of BS Marine Transportation. Now we are both working here in Metro Manila. I am connected with a Worldwide Relocation Company and work as a Move Manager, having the task of move management. Hubby in other hand is connected with SM.

It is always my prayer to have a husband who would love the Lord too and the Lord never failed me. I believed that a marriage is always ordained by the Lord. That from the beginning He has taken a woman out of a man's ribs and that at the end the woman will find that man , the one who could make her complete and be home at last. Thank you Lord for this man. We are married for 6 years already and have officially one daughter and another one coming (though my kids are already 3 at present and will be officially 4 this coming December, do you get what I mean?)

In a marriage life, it can never be avoided that between partners there are flaws that one will notice while being together. Zel has a lot of that. But I still say amen for that. His flaws are blessings to make me more strong in the Lord and to lead me to examine myself in how I am to him too. He is the head of the family and it is always God's will for us wife to submit to our husbands as our husbands would also submit to the Lord as head.

Anyway, our love story is quite one of a kind. After what I have been through, I myself have never deemed that I would finally be complete with the man who would love me for who I am and not questioning my ability to be a wife and a mother of our children.

Know more on Couple's Corner about how we meet next week!!

Sabi nga ni Chubskulit, UP Graduate, I bet you are very smart. Taga Mindanao pala kaung pareho ni Zel, dun din ang uncle ko, sa General Santos naman sila.

Anyways, you know how Faith led you to one another? siguro, destiny yan noh? You're both lucky to have found each other.

Ay ang dami nating nalalaman sa isa't isa through this Meme..feeling ko tuloy, I know you both very well through your description di ba? It's great knowing you Zel and Mie (Shelo), see again next week, I can't wait...

Wow...a very interesting story... being a wife at my age, i really need to learn from those who have already experienced the sweet and sour of a married life... I learned something from here sa line na "In a marriage life, it can never be avoided that between partners there are flaws that one will notice while being together. " I keep failing to realize this...thanks...

I agree sis, there will be no perfect marriage. Kaya nga before I met my husband, I always pray to God to give me a God fearing person, kasi with this, both of you can able to deal with marriage life. Anyway, nice meeting both of you!!!

Indeed a one love story and marriage to look up to. I always adore relationships and people who have very strong faith in God, 'cause I know I don't have much. And that I want to fulfill. I believe, getting closer to those who are will little by little fill in my cup as well. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Hope to learn more from you both. See yah around sis!
