Let Everyday be Christmas

It's Christmas Time Again.. I can Hear the bells on Christmas day!!! The familiar carols play.. It is the day before Christmas. People around the world will be celebrating. People are rushing to the malls, buying gifts taking time to be kind to one and all, preparing stuff for the Eve of Christmas. I like the feeling, the cool breeze, the soft music filling the air. I want this season to last for a lifetime..

Christmas should be forever, not for just one day,for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

We hear the beating of wings over Bethlehem and a light that is not of the sun or of the stars shines in the midnight sky. Let the beauty of the story take away all narrowness, all thought of formal creeds. Let it be remembered as a story that has happened again and again, to men of many different races, that has been expressed through many religions, that has been called by many different names. Time and space and language lay no limitations upon human brotherhood..

LET THE TRUE MEANING OF THE SEASON LIVE IN OUR HEARTS!!!!

MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 TO ALL!!!

All About Hubby Tag

Here we go again it's tagging time! I would like to thank my blogger cousin LOVE for this fun tag i think so. Sorry this was a late post, , a lot of Expats are relocating this time of the year.. Peak season and pretty busy here at the office.

Can you remember the day you first met your hubby? Yes I can...

When was that?
Anyway, not really the date but I can remember that I saw him first in the Church's Young People's Meeting. Sisters and brothers were seated in opposite rows. He was exactly the same opposite row with mine, that started it all..

First impression. He is Cute and has baby-face

Were you friends before he became your bf? Hm mm.., not really that friends, actually I just saw him that time and from then on he was courting me and I did not say yes right away Cause I was not planning really that time to have a boyfriend cause for me boys are pain in the ass..

What was the sweetest thing he did for you? Maybe , when he married me..

What are the things about him that you are thankful for? The Lord could never be wrong!!!

*Now the rules are simple.
1. Pick your sweetest picture when you were still friends and post it on top of the questions and answers.
2. Another picture now that you are together post it after the questions.
3. Share to how many friends you like.
4. Enjoy doing it c:
5. Let your hubby read it too c:

Now, I'm going to pass this tag to my favorite bloggers: Jhoice , Maya , Rosa
and Yesha

The Greatest Gift

Gifts, presents, bundle of joy, something for someone, whatever they may be, the Spirit of Giving is Present and it is so eminent during December. But, I had a questioning- feeling why it's only during this time? Almost all said , it's because December is the birthday of Jesus our Lord. So it is a time for joy and giving.

Literally speaking, one cannot prove that December 25 is the natal day of the King of Kings. Even when we search the dictionary, the historical books, the Bible for one, the internet, none could pinpoint that it was December when the Lord was born. It's not that I dont believe in the birth of the Lord Jesus, because I do. Let me take you to another side of the picture which is my point.

Incarnation was the first step God has passed in order to reach us and be able to save us. Jesus being incarnated , stepping down from being a complete God into a lowly man from the day He was born is amazing and worthy of all our praises. That is one of the greatest gifts mankind had received. He was the only son of the Father but because of His love for man His son he giveth. But the process did not stop there, He lived for 33 and a half years to become a pattern of the highest standard of morality. Moreover He suffered, crowned by thorns and Hanged on the cross. He was the Son of Almighty yet He gave up His life to save the fallen mankind. He rose up again to become the life-giving Spirit which is availabe for us to breathe in. Now He is becoming the reality of everything we need. Could you think of a greater gift than that?

My point here is that, why we only have the spirit of giving during December. The true root of giving-atmosphere was when the Father gave His only Son to us that He might died for our iniquities. If you believe that December was the birth of Christ, let me refresh you that His act of giving did not stop at His birth. The Lord is now the Life-giving Spirit and continued to be our all day by day. How we need to live by this thought. Is it not then a time for joy and sharing everyday? If so, It's not only in a certain month or season that we have to fan the flame of the spirit of giving. We must have the heart to reach out and share what we have anytime. We need to be enlightened too that material gifts are nothing compared to our own selves being offered to others. Our service , our love and our compassion and even our simply just being there is far more than the things that one could offer.

Hope we set the Lord as our Living Pattern when it comes to giving. It's not only a season the Lord is available for us. He meant to give His life to us for us to live day by day. And for us to imitate in being a fountain of blessings to others. Having a heart like that of Him we can then offer our greatest gift which cannot be bought by any amount of silver nor gold.

World Healing

Ever wanted to heal the world? Then try this ….
One lazy Sunday afternoon a businessman was hard at work entertaining a business client at home. The businessman had a young son of about six years old called David who kept disturbing the proceedings.

David was bored. It was raining. Mum was out. His best friend had flu. He hoped that Daddy and his friend might like to play a game of something either now, soon, or some time later (like in two or three minutes).

Each time David came into the room his father gave him something from the table to go away and play with: first a pen, then a calculator, then a paperweight and then a Financial Times. Finally, David was reprimanded.

A little while later David was back again, and this time, his father was prepared. On the table was a large full-colour picture of the world carefully torn into a hundred small pieces. He gave David a roll of sticky tape and asked him to play with the world until he had stuck it all back together again. That, surely, was the end of David!

Much to his father’s astonishment, David returned after about five minutes with the picture of the world complete again. "How did you manage that so quickly, and so well?" asked his father. David replied, "Oh, on the back of the picture of the world I had already drawn a big picture of myself, and when I put myself together the world came together also."

RP Idol: HOME AGAIN

The boxing world's superstar returns home on Wednesday, Dec. 10,08 to the acclaim of His countrymen!!

Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao received a grand welcome befitting a sports hero as he arrived from Los Angeles, California before dawn yesterday. "I'm happy to be back. I dedicate my victory to all Filipinos. ", was his words to the all who met him. "I'm proud to have given my country a great honor. Thank you for all your support and prayers", he said as he stepped into the airport's Presidential Lounge.

Manny shook hands, gave thumbs up sign and even posed for souvenir pictures. He signed few autographs too. Pacquiao spoke on microphone connected to the airport's public address system, and these were His words:
" Thank you for praying for my victory. To all my countrymen, my victory is yours. The Lord Knows it, it's in my heart. All of us Filipinos are proud of this boxing feat. Let us unite, forget politics and focus on how to improve our lives and how to improve our nation."

Hours after, he visited the Quiapo Church in Manila to hear mass amid another throng of supporters welcoming him. Pacman shared, as a defender of faith, the prayer he made at the corner of his ring, following his fight: "I said, 'Lord , it's you, and not me. You'd let me win. You helped that's why I won. That's why You're the first I have to thank. It all comes from You. I thank You"

The people's champ also mentioned that He want to finish school. " I want to finish school. Boxing is different. It's not meant for a lifetime" , he said.

Manny got a carrot cake from his no. rooter , Pres. Gloria Arroyo baked by the presidential chief, after hearing the mass at Quiapo church. On the cake is written the mythic tagline conferred on him by the boxing's bible Ring Magazine : World's #1 pound-for-pound boxer

Lastly the boxer shared a tip on how to spend amid of the global financial crisis: "when you dont need to, don't spend. Always think if the things you're spending on has a purpose or if it's your family who would benefit. Avoid vices, the money for them could be used to buy rice."

Hmmm.. well, is this true Manny? Nevertheless, You're still the champion. Congrats Manny!!

Desi Hot Point

Hi Friends, you might ask me what does the word "Desi" mean? To give you a little background ,
Desi (or Deshi; pronounced [ˈd̪eːsi] or [ˈd̪eːʃi], Hindi: देसी, Urdu: دیسی, Punjabi: ਦੇਸੀ, دیسی) is a word originally from Sanskrit literally meaning "from the country" or "of the country".

It is mainly used by those of South Asian origins themselves, rarely by the majority population, and carries a subtext of inclusiveness and unity. It allows South Asians to refer to their broader immigrant community, rather than requiring a specific, nationalistic label such as "Indian" or "Pakistani". As such, its connotations are positive, alluding to the shared values, bonds and experiences of descendants of the entire region.

Well do you want to be a part of a Premiere and World's Largest website for desi Youths?

The goodness of Petai

ADVICE FROM UKM MEDICAL DOCTOR

Little did you know ...... after reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at petai in the same way again!

Petai contains three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combined with fiber, petai gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two servings of petai provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder petai is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way petai can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND among people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating petai. This is because petai contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS(premenstrual syndrome):
Forget the pills - eat petai.. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, petai can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the petai industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power :
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating petai at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert. Undrstand that bananas contain lot of potassium too so eat more banana. Just look at those monkeys, they are really active, alert, smart and funny too!!

Constipation:
High in fiber, including petai in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a petai milkshake, sweetened with honey.
The petai calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn:
Petai has a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating petai for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness :
Snacking on petai between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites :
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of the petai skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Petai is high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight:
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report c oncluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
Petai is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness.
It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases.. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control :
Many other cultures see petai as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional
temperature of expectant mothers. In holland, for example, pregnant women eat petai to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) :
Petai can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.

Smoking:
Petai can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium petai snack.

Strokes:
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine," eating petai as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%".

Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of petai and place it on the wart. Carefully hold the petai in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, as you can see, petai really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A Petai a day keeps the doctor away".
