Banana: The Goodness of It


Banana, a rich creamy fruit which is favorite among people of all ages from infant to adult, is a fruit that comes from the genus Musa (Musicae family). Cultivated in Philippines, Malaysia, New Guinea, and Indonesia as a secondary source of fiber and a rich source of energy.

Most people in the world take Banana as the number one fruit of choice especially in the United States. However, most people who eat this fruit don't know the jewels that fruit brings to them. Do you know why Banana is good for you?

Let me present here some facts of the goodness of Banana:

1. Good source of energy: Banana as tested contained three natural sugars bundled into one: fructose, sucrose and glucose. These three combined with the fiber contents of the same fruit thus resulting to production of substantial and sustaining energy boost. Energy doesn't just keep us going in our daily tasks but would also enable our body system to fight foreign elements that would bring illness to the body.

2. Good source of Iron: This fruit is suitable to fight the symptoms of anemia. Banana is known to contain High levels of iron which helps in production of Hemoglobin in the blood.

3. High in Potassium: This fruit is acknowledge by the US Food and drug administration to have the ability to reduce the risks of High Blood Pressure and stroke. Due to it's richness in potassium but low in salt , it has the capability to combat High Blood Pressure.

4. Helps ease Depression: Banana has a tryptophan content, a type a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. If you are depressed, try to eat a Banana or too it will make you feel better.

5. Capability to Boost Brain Power: According to researches , Potassium-filled fruits can boost mental alertness and can facilitate in making children learn fast.

6. Good in Constipation: As a good source in fiber this fruit also helps in regulating regular bowel movement without resorting to the use of laxative and other constipation supplements.

7. Relieves Heartburn: Banana has also a unique antacid effect in the stomach. Thus it will be helpful to eat Banana whenever you feel heartburn.

8. Helps in Treating Hangover: If you have Hangover , the quickest way to deal with it is try making banana milkshake sweetened with honey. As was said, Banana has a soothing effect to the stomach , thus it will help. The honey restores back the reduced sugar level while the milk will bring back the loss water in your system.

9. Reducing morning sickness: Eating Banana during mornings helps in keeping sugar levels thus morning sickness is done away with it.

10. Insect Bites Cream: Banana peel when rubbed to affected or bit skins will help reduce irritation and alleviates the swelling.

Potassium is a very important mineral that helps normalize the heartbeat, balances water in the body, and sends oxygen to the brain. Thus eating banana can help people revitalize.
