Mommy Moments: Blue!

mommy moments

I missed Mommy Moments! How are you all here. I was so pre-occupied on the past days , taking my time from precious blogging. I miss seeing all your posts here at MM. Good that I am back and will do my best to join every Friday from now on.=)

Today's theme which is BLUE is so timely. This is our favorite color actually. I love seeing my kids on other colors, but I am so mesmerized when they wear Blue!

Blue is the overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed.

The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives. As the collective color of the spirit, it invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming. However, not all blues are serene and sedate.

Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic -- an engaging color that expresses exhilaration. Some shades or the overuse of blue may come across as cold or uncaring.

Indigo, a deeper blue, symbolizes a mystical borderland of wisdom, self-mastery, and spiritual realization. While blue is the color of communication with others, indigo turns the blue inward to increase personal thought, profound insights, and instant understandings.

Blue is the least "gender specific" color, having equal appeal to both men and women.

Mommy Moments: A Song from a Mom's Heart

mommy moments

It's Friday!!! It's Mommy Moments time! I have missed a lot of topics during my hibernation. Lol.. But now that I am back , I will do my best to keep on coming back to MM every Friday. This weeks topic appeals to me a lot, " Song From a Moms Heart" ..

When I was pregnant with my third child, Alikah Arienh, I really had a favorite song. If we have "paglilihi" (intense craving or like of something) during pregnancy, that song might be my pinaglilihian. LOL. It's A Praise and worship song actually, "Shout to the Lord" by Darlene Zschech. I play it over and over again on my PC on the office, at the music player at home and even when I play the piano it was my favorite piece to play. I love the lyrics and the tune. Such a wonderful way to praise the Lord as there is no one Like Him.

It did not surprise me that when Alikah grew up, she also loves the song. She sang it together with me and oftentimes ask me to play the song over the piano. I play it, she sings it. That is then our favorite song, a special song for us. A Song of Praise to the Lord making our spirits sing with praises and glory to the King.

How about you? Share your special song with us here at Mommy Moments.

Mommy Moments: Yummy!

mommy moments

Sidenote: Thank you for those who have prayed for my condition. I have mentioned in my previous post that I was having again a pre-term labor and was advised for bed rest and have medications to calm my uterus as I am yet on my 31st week. Not yet due for the baby to be born. Please continue praying for me for my safe journey till my big day. !!!
It's Mommy Moments time and I decided to join not letting slip this wonderful topic which is all about the food that our kids love or something about their likes and dislikes when it comes to eating. Talking about Yummy, we moms definitely want to give the best nutrition to our children as what they eat becomes them. I mean in the totality of the wellness of our children, the food that they eat play a big part.

My three children are all picky eaters I can certainly tell so. They are not the type of kids who will crave for the feast on the table whenever we have some celebrations. They only go for those they love most. No matter how we wanted them to have a balance diet, most of the times our head aches as they never want to eat those we wanted them to eat.

My boys I have seen that they love fried chicken. Not chicken with tomato sauce, not adobo, not tinola, only fried goes with them. They love most the Jolli fried chicken. They also love hotdog and tocino and french fries. You see, it's not really recommended to let kids eat processed foods most of the time.

Jollibee Fried Chicken-my boys' all time favorite

With my daughter, sometimes we get frustrated on what to give her. She doesn't have any favorite healthy food. When we go to the mall, she is not excited of the food she can see. She is only excited with the games on the arcade and the toys she can play. She does not love anything sweet: ice cream, cakes, pies, puddings, she doesn't want any of them. She just eats for the sake of tasting and maybe because I am terrible when I get angry. He he. If her yaya is not patient enough to let her eat 3x a day, she would not eat also as long as she drinks her milk. But of course I see to it that her yaya force her to eat no matter how long it takes to finish. However, I see that she likes candies. Oh Lollies that's all she loves, and hmmm chips!!! too bad!

Candies make her day

But hey, there's one thing in common to them. I remember, all of them loves Lechon. They get excited with the crispy lechon skin. That's why most of our celebrations we always have lechon on the table.

Mommy Moments: Let's Pretend

mommy moments

Mommy Moments cause it Friday, hurray!! Time to engage our posts into something we mommies love to tell. Our theme for this week is about : LET'S PRETEND, as our kids we must all agree love to pretend that they're somebody or make-believe.

I cannot always see my boys and not quite familiar on how they play that, as again I would say they are not living with me. For my girl, she's quite a pretender. You would always hear her bubbling to herself. Sometimes she's a teacher, other times she's a student, but mostly she is a singer or a performer on her pretending times. Not having a real playmate as she is the only kid in our house maybe leads her to more self-talks. Sometimes you may even feel scared as you will hear her talking to no one as if she is really having someone with her as she is quite good in the timing of her lines, and with her actions. Her nanny would even sometime react during times that she might feel that Alikah is really seeing things. LOL. But children are like that. I was even like that when I was a child.

Alikah loves to pretend that she is :
that she's a performer (singer and dancer)

that she's a mother and her babies are her dollies..

that she's a fairy or a wood nymph..

that she's a model or someone who poses for billboards..

that she is a princess , and Cinderella is her favorite among them..

So how do your kiddo's play Let's Pretend? Tell us of them here.

Mommy Moments: Precious Gifts

mommy moments

Friday and Mommy Moments again! Our topic for this week is all about Precious gifts. Any gifts we have received from our kids. It could be intangible or tangible as long as you find it precious and dear.

Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In our hearts and souls are infinitely precious gifts that cannot be taken out from us. For me, there's no other precious than the gift of my children. Their being here in my life is the most precious gift itself. With them on my life, I feel I have a home, what joy it is to be a mother of them.

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127: 3-5

Their smiles, their "I Love You Mama Shelo" , the " We miss you Mama Shelo" from my boys and their joys and laughter are more than enough and treasured by me a lot in my heart. Their good school performances and their love to the Lord, their kisses and hugs serve my real strength and inspiration. Nothing beats really the joy of receiving the love of your children than all the material possessions in the world.

smile like this could make my day right..

Their laughter like these could ease my loneliness...

Bonding moments with them takes away all my cares..

Their wits and wisdom and love to the Lord makes me a proud mama.

Thank you Lord for these precious gifts.. the gifts of my CHILDREN..and for the little one that is COMING very soon!!!

So join us today at Mommy Moments and tell us what gifts you also treasure.

Mommy Moments : Tantrums, Trantrums

mommy moments

Friday again, another Mommy Moments . Praise the Lord for His mercies ever new. The Lord has been faithful in providing all the needs of our family. This week's theme for MM is all about our kid's tantrums. Kids can be so fuzzy and cranky and their moods have a lot of swings.

Talking about tantrums, I have loads of it from my daughter. She is the kind of girl who's mood changes dramatically. She loves to get all the attention. If you failed to give it to her, she will start making your head achy and achy and achy. You may wonder why I always feature my daughter here in MM and less occasions talking about my boys. Pardon me for that , it is not what you think. You might say the girl is my favorite. Of course I love all my children. It just so happen that my boys did not grow with me and do not stay with me but with my mother in the province. That is why I have little to tell about them.

Back to tantrums, I have not taken a lot of photos of her with those , but she certainly has a lot of them..
like this one.. she cried at the mall cause she wanted to go home

and this as she did not want her outfit.. , "I don't like this Mama, take it off from me"

and here, she did not want to put on clothes as she was annoyed with her yaya..

How about your kids? Do they have a lot of tantrums too? Join us at Mommy Moments and share their stories with us.

Note: This was composed last week. I was so advance in topic, that when I saw at Mommy Chris post about mall trips , I suddenly make a new entry.LOL..

Visiting Malls is one of our children's favorite activities. They love to be there to play, shop for toys and eat. Well, so good that I have handy dandy files of my kids' photos on Mall. However, it's only few here at the office as I have them at home. But glad that I am still able to share few with you.

My second son and my daughter at the Mall's activity center..

Here's a pic of my daughter's favorite place when we are Mall of Asia, she love the bay at the back of the Mall where she could play and play all she cares..
